Poppies ceramic tile with easel is a powerful painting by local North East artist, Emily Ward.
This poignant scene captures a field of gorgeously vibrant poppies in bloom. Poppies have a special meaning as they symbolise remembrance of the First World War, honouring and memorialising fallen soldiers.
A glowing sunrise shines over the flowers, illuminating the painting and adding a sign of hope, a new day coming. Slight hazes of pink and blue also appear in the sky, highlighting the sun even more. In the distance, a group of trees is also captured, dark and green, to make the poppies the main part of the painting.
Each ceramic tile is made from an original painting by North East Artist Emily Ward.
